Government employers are our specialty. Whether fully insured or self funded, SHERRILL MORGAN offers both consultant and agent/broker services. Our government clients range in size from as few as ten employees to well over 1,600. As of now, we insure more government employees in the states of Tennessee and Kentucky than any other firm but the states themselves.

Depending on the size of the client and carrier rules, we are always happy to work on a consultant basis instead of a broker/agent basis as this ensures a flat fee instead of commissions, bonuses, overrides paid to the broker by the carrier.

Currently, we have 26 self funded government clients and over 50 fully insured government clients. Below are some of the items included in our services for both fully insured and self funded clients:

  • Goal discussion and development
  • High level analysis of current schedule of benefits, premiums,  eligibility policies,  healthcare budget projections, and pharmacy evaluations
  • High level analysis of employee health management, disease management and wellness management
  • High level analysis of voluntary insurance contracts such as vision, dental, life, std, ltd, EAP, voluntary products etc.
  • Development of strategic long term benefit plan
  • High level executive summary report on suggestions and recommendations for plan design changes, considerations for RFPs or ITBs, improvements, policy concerns, references and comparisons made to alternatives via government market information and data collected via surveys, existing government clients and/or vendor’s market information

SHERRILL MORGAN works with clients to develop a long term plan for their employee benefits in order to get rising costs under control. All of the following areas are examined as part of this long term plan:   

  • Financial Goals:  What are your financial goals?  What percent of cost do you want your employees to contribute now and in the future? As part of the development of financial goals, we will do an extensive analysis of your cost history which will focus on how to slow cost increases in the future.    
  • Consumer-Driven Goals:  This is the area with the greatest potential for employee involvement. We will help you to bring the new plan to your employees through employee meetings, information sessions, and printed materials. 
  • Wellness Goals:  Wellness programs can be customized to fit our clients needs, whatever they may be. We can help you with wellness programs ranging from basic fitness classes to lifestyle classes to incentive based (premium reduction) wellness programs.  
  • Pharmacy Goals:  SHERRILL MORGAN helps you to define your goals with respect to your pharmacy program. The financial impact of over the counter programs, specialty drugs, and designer drugs will be examined throughout this process.  
  • Plan Design Goals:  Deductibles and copays are evaluated to make sure they coordinate with the your goals.

All of the information above can be put on a timeline on which meeting dates and goals, such as the renewal process, are given future action dates.
